Keothavong wins in Memphis opener

Keothavong will now face Portugal's Larcherde Anne Keothavong reached the second round of the WTA RMK Championships with a 3-6 6-3 6-1 win over Italy's Maria Elena Camerin in Memphis. The 25-year-old fourth seed will now face Portugal's Michelle Larcherde, who beat Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 6-2 6-0. However, fellow Briton Melanie South was knocked out following a 6-2 6-2 defeat to Czech player Lucie Safarova. Nunber eight seed Pauline Parmentier beat fellow Frenchwoman Julie Coin 7-6 (8-6) 4-6 6-1.
